OK, I can do this. :) One more trip to heaven this winter. RYE has been booked for Feb. 18th. Its a saturday night on the first weekend of most of your vacation. Cost is the same, $80. Bus will leave the SHOP at 6 pm on saturday, the 18th. We will get to RYE at 8:30 and ride from 9pm til 9am the next morning. We will get back to the shop around 11:30 am on Sunday morning. Any questions, feel free to call the shop 413 585 8700. The trip is open to anyone who rides a BMX bike, scooter, skateboard, 24" wheels,26"wheels... Hell, I dont care if you bring your inline skates! Just bring a good attitude is all I ask. Here is a list of things you may want to bring...

1.Signed and stamped waiver! Can be downloaded from www.Ryeairfield.com If you have been before, you are all set. But if u are under 18 and have never been, you MUST have that waiver signed by a parent/legal gaurdian and stamped by a notary public. ( Banks will have one). They will NOT let you ride without it.

1.Bike. take front wheel off, pedals off, and fold your bars down. PLEASE try to do it before u get here.

2. Helmet. ( u have to wear one at RYE)

3. Long sleeves and long pants. OR elbow and knee pads

4. Food/water or $ to buy food/water. They have pizza, chix sand., nachos, gatoraide...

5. Pillow ( recommended)

6. Tools. I bring a lot, but its real nice to have your own basic ones.

7. $ for a tube, brake cable, bolts... Parts break. I bring the basics.

8. Duck tape. So you dont fall out of your seat in the bus on the way home. :)

9. Band-Aids. They have em, but more never hurts.

10. Patience. Im dealing with 50-55 of you all night long. Go easy on me.

11. Its a loooong night. For some of you it will be the most you have ever ridden your bike at one time. The place is huge and has something for everyone. Dont expect to qualify for X Games that night. Just get a few tricks in your head and work on those.

Im sure Im forgetting something... Oh yeah! MONEY gets you a seat. I will not hold seats for people. First come first serve. You can bring cash or a check to the bike shop, or mail a check to Full Circle Bike Shop

Another trip in the books. Good times as usual went down at Rye this weekend. I smashed my hand with a hammer, Norm seperated his shoulder on a backflip, Jamie sprained his ankle, Adam split his chin open on his bars... But no one died! :) Everyone shredded. Dylan even dropped in on the ginourmous Half Pipe! crazy. The weather was amazing so when the AM rolled around, they opened up the walls and let the sunshine in. Most everyone got along. ( Unless you fell asleep on the bus on the way home. Then you may have been written on, easy cheesed, or if your mouth was wide open, you may have received some Ramon Noodles. Check my FB page for that one! ) All in all, a great time was had. Thank you everyone that came along. Tell me when you want the next one! This time I will NOT be fixing headsets that need to be hammered out! hahaha

Holy cow, the bus leaves in 51 hours! You have your waivers signed, right?! Under 18 and have never been to Rye, you have to download the waiver and get it signed by a Public Notary with your parent/s/legal guardian's signature/initials. If you dont, they WILL NOT let your ride. If you are 18 and over, or have been to RYE before, you are all set.

You must have or rent a helmet. You can buy food there, or bring a small cooler.

Your bike must have the front wheel off, pedals off, and handlebars folded down. Its the ONLY way to get 55 or so bikes on a bus. PLEASE do this before you get here. Thanks

FBM made an unannounced visit yesterday. ( Not true, John Lee informed me 60 minutes in advance :) Rain was coming down, the shop was slow, and before you knew it, Eric Hennessey was "hoping" 53" over the bar with a severed head watching from below. Always psyched to see Crandall and crew! Pizzas were demolished, beverages were consummed. Even got to sample the new FBM video coming out soon.! Nice seeing Jay from The Least Most as well. Well, the Sunday! crew just left. They are headed west, for a stop at The Garden tomorrow. If you are in the Pittsfield area, stop by.

The day started with Elivin taking home the award for " highest hop with a 40lb. bike". I think he got 36 with it!! damn. It was followed by a train of 50 or so bikes hopping the bar. I dont even know who the hell won or what the highest hop was. There had to be 100 people here. I could barely get outside to see many of the festivities. Blood was shed, wrists were bent, the Ding Dong Cart came by ( I though u had to be friendly to drive one of those?), the Police arrived ( some neighbors can be sooo lame), there was a giant game of footdown, Director forks were given away, autographs were signed ( got Jim C. to sign my SPAM shirt), a kid even bought a new SUNDAY! Gary Young Complete bike and got it signed by Jim Cielencki.
The day ended with EVERYONE at the Northampton Bowl. ( Sorry to barge in skaters, thanks for dealing with the 60 or so bikes) It was great to see Bobby Parker rip around the bowl and Jim C. airing out over the hip. Ross was hurt, so was Seeley and Magallan. But it was still great seeing all that BMX. Good times for sure. Maybe next time, some dirt behind my house, Scot ??? Mother nature can be a bitch. :)

Thanks again Bobby and Jim for making this happen. It really meant a lot to me. Thanks to everyone at SUNDAY! for hanging out and talking with the kids. Showing them how cool their favorite pros can be. Im pretty psyched Aaron and Scot like football as much as they do. Thanks Jake, for getting the kids stoked on the shop and organizing the footdown comp. You didnt have to do that. I appreciated it. Thanks to everyone who chilled at the shop afterwards. That was the best ride down the bikepath ever! And all I did was carve, skid outs, and jump the grass bank! And thankyou to everyone who showed up. I can not do it without each and everyone of you. You supporting your Local BMX Shop, means everything to me. Thank you again, and I hope to see you soon.

I live in Worthington. Things are a little behind in that neck of the woods. People still say hello at the corner store, neighbors/friends watch your house when you go away, dogs run free up and down the road... The snow is still hanging around, the ground is still frozen in some spots... But digging has begun. Last year a lot of hard work happened, and it is going to pay off this year. I recently met Nick Burke riding at a contest i through at the westfield skatepark. After that we became friends and i have shared the privilege of riding with him. He shows a true love a devotion for pedaling his bicycle. Hes got a super great outlook on everything, always down to ride bikes and just kills whatever he touches. Favorite spot traveled to?

Boston Mass and Albany NY because both had many great spots and i went there with a crew full of good tricks and funny antics.

10Holyoke mass, there is so many spots and every time we go there we do something new or find many new spots!
2) Umass Amherst, the campus has everything you would want to ride and the campus police are pretty down on us riding, i don't think i've ever been kicked out.
3) Belchertown mass, i pretty much learned everything there and thats where i started riding my bike. From the skatepark to the schools across the street to the manual pads!

How long have you been riding for?

I've been riding since i was still with training wheels haha but riding and taking it seriously since i was 12 so around 5 years

What got you into BMX?
When I was 12 my cousins would make dirt jumps and pretty much have me test them out and hit them first. The thing they didn't know.. was i actually liked hitting them and learning from my falls.

I like how not many people but you do nose tricks. what got you into those?
Way back at the Belchertown skatepark I would watch my buddy Joe Alos try hang 5's and that sparked my interest in nose tricks.

Any outside hobbies other then BMX?

I don't really have that many hobbies outside of bmx since i work almost everyday, i do push around the skateboard sometimes and chill with friends. I am a professional Ramen noodle cooker also...

What took you into street riding insted of trails or park?
I got into street riding because there is so many things to ride and you can have fun on something as little as a curb or manual pad. You can ride around and find so many spots and if you have ever found a sweet spot before, you know the feeling... it's amazing.

Whats your favorite trick?
My favorite trick would have to be... either hang 5's or anything on a perfect 7 stair rail, its hard to choose a favorite trick.

Solo session or with friends or contests?

I like riding with a decent sized crew. I haven't really been riding with too many people because many of the kids either quit, have a really bad attitude or no respect at all.

What do you listen to when you ride?
I haven't listened to anything while i have been riding lately, but i usually listen to some brutal shit or some old good rap.

Who is your idol?
hm...i can't really think of any idols i look or have looked up too, i guess i don't have any

Where do you get your parts from?

I get all my parts from a one of a kind bike shop, Full Circle bike shop! Ran by a great guy that still shreds and is stoked on any kid that is having fun riding a bike! Support your local bike shop!

RYE trip Round IV

Ready to do it again? December 27th is the date. Thats right, two days after christmas. We have rented out RYE again for our fourth All-nighter. Cost is $75. Bus leaves the shop at 6pm sharp on the 27th. We arrive at RYE for 8:30 and ride from 9pm til 9am tuesday morning. If u have been before, you are all set as far as the waiver goes. If you have not been, you have to download their waiver and get it signed by a public notary. And dont forget to bring it! Any questions, call the shop or Facebook me. 413 585 8700. 65 kids have signed up, yet only about 25 have paid. Payment gets u a seat. Good times good times :)

My friend Bruce came over last night. Hes 43, and he bought his first BMX bike two years ago. A sweet FBM Maneater built up with Odyssey and S&M parts. Dialed. He and I shredded the pump track last night! Pictures not necessary. His wife, Alysson, even gave it a go! Crashed coming out of the big berm! :) BMX forever.

Its been awhile (Sorry Aaron) since the last post. Summer has been really busy, and writing on this thing was really the last thing I wanted to do. So I didn't. haha Well now its fall, and the repairs have gone away, sales are a little slower, and I should pay more attention to this world wide web thing. I guess.

Bikes have come and gone this summer. The 2010 models have all but disappeared, and the 2011s have slowly been rolling in the door. Kinks are here, Uniteds, Fits,Subrosas, and newly acquired Verde. FBMs really soon, We The Peoples, Redlines and even SEs for all you( us) old timers. Parts are always coming in the door. Get that wheel built up that you so desperately need. And new soft goods from Fit should be arriving soon as well.

And finally, the other thing that has been keeping me busy.... Pump track, baby!

Keep riding ( its really the best time of year), keep digging, get ready for another RYE trip this winter, have fun, see ya around

Its freakin beautiful out there! Get to the trails ASAP!! I spent the day yesterday diggin in the dirt with my family. Best time ever. The dirt is just waiting for you to sculpt it. Seriously, I could stay out there at the trails for an entire vacation. Dig all day, ride street all night... Good times.

Monday, the weather was nice. Today it sucks. All the more reason to get on the bus and come to RYE with us. It will be the last trip to RYE until next year, so Lets do this!!! Seats are filling, but still plenty to go... $75 for 16 hours of pure good times.

a few picks from the Overnighter. Another epic time was had this year at RYE. I think I made it to around 5am when I decided I was done for the night! Eric D. and Eric L. will have to battle it out to see who actually rode more. hahahah Most everyone rode the whole night through, while a few slept for a few hours here and there. No real injuries, only one "fight", and everyone accounted for. Sounds like reason enough to plan the next one! Thanks again to everybody for making it happen. .....Its 40 degrees and sunny right now. Go Ride your bike! -J
