August 12th, 2012

Another stellar session last night.  It started a little slow, I think everyone was drained from the humidity.  But it ended strong with trains, whips, 3s, T Bogs and another marathon pump track session.  We tried intsalling the rail, but quickly discovered more thought was needed. haha  It WILL work.  Thanks again to everyone that showed up.  Lets start that next monster berm, eh?!

6:30 A.M.

Getting up everyday at 6:30 with Jonah is pretty rough.  But when I force myself to get outside with him at that hour, its always worth it.  The light on the jumps is so great at that time of day.

Sunday night ride.

Sunday night was a success.  We were able to get a couple of hours in before the rains came in.  Thanks to John, Erika, Norm, Amanda, Nick, Jonah, and Lynne for hangin out.  Here Norm blasts one over a beverage holding Jonah.  hahahaha

Its Sunday!

So it just POURED here in Florence.  But Norm just called from up in the hills and he said its blue sky... So we are still planning on riding to night.  Even if it does rain for a few moments, its so damn dry it wont make a difference.  See you soon!   Dont forget a shovel :)

Sunday night ride

Sunday Night Ride, part 30 something...

Sunday night ride was last night.  Thanks to Jonah in the A.M., we were able to ride!  It was a little slick if u didnt have a knobby up front, but other than that, they were running well.  I only snapped a couple of picks... There was sooo much I wanted to do!  So instead of photos, I started intalling the rail, while Zach, Elvin and Matt worked on the " booter".  A few runs were made at the big line, and then a  Marathon Pump Track session went down.  Zach has the lead with a 15 lap performance. James and I are going to start putting more laps in, so we'll see how long it lasts! :)  If we keep this up, we'll have a loop back to Harvey Rd before the season is over.  See you soon!  J

perfect day to work on the trails

Jonah and I went out this morning and squeeged off the trails.  They should be ridable with a little work.  Bring your shovels and see you at my house tonight!  Ill be there by 5:30...

BAD IDEA Premier

Empire's NewVideo, Bad Idea, went off last night.  Most excellent.  I loved it right from the start.  Great intro, great line up, great soundtrack.  Thanks to the crew that should up for it on such short notice.  Thanks as always for the TV, Mr. Sampson. 

Kevin Porter's section had my smiling right away.  Great tune, unique moves.  His best section yet.

Sean Sexton.  Damn.  I didnt think I liked the looks of a flair, until this part came along.  Good god.  He kills it.

Tom Smith... wow.  What was that, a 200 foot hang five????  curved? downhill? thumbs up.

Tom Dugan.  TREMENDOUS.  Favorite part hands down.

Chase Hawk.  His last line through 9th street was so insane. I dont go as fast forwards, as he does backwards.  And his airs are as lofty as ever.  Great song as well.

Aaron Ross finished things up with 540s and tail whips out of rails... How the hell do you feeble down a steep ass rail and whip out of it?  Nice work.

We then headed out to UMASS for a few hours.  Austin and Austin were amazing.  Elvin gets better everyday it seems.  Jeremy Tan showed up, Drew and his Dad Will raced around everything. Josh was having a blast as always. Justin destroyed his back wheel :(.  Even Joe was feeble grinding the pads at South West.  Thanks to Kathy? for bringing your son, Jamie down.  I hope he had a good time.  All in all it was a good night.  Thank you to everyone that showed.  Next week my house?

 One of the first few attempts at the last big one.  Still packing things in, so it should be a booter when all is said and done.  Now we have to wrap that berm around those pine trees and head back to the road!!!

Trails were shredded last night.  Thanks to John, Jesse, Keegan, Andy, Johnny, Zach and Andrew. ( I kicked the crap out of the weed wacker).  Andrew mid boost.

4th of July

Only pic I can find...  Had a great turn out for the Parade on the 4th.  Thanks to everyone that showed up to ride with us.  Next year we'll make a float! hahaha

RYE Airfield, Baby!

T-minus 30 hours and counting til take-off!  Thats right, another trip to the best park in New England!  Bus leaves at 6pm from the shop and we arrive at RYE for 8:30pm.  We then ride from 9pm til 9am sunday morning and arrive back at the shop around 11:30 am.   Dont forget your waiver!!! ( If u have been before, you are all set).  If this is your first time, DO NOT forget the waiver.  You can download it from Ryes website.  And you have to get it signed by a public Notary. ( your local bank will have one).  There are still some seats left, so tell a friend!  Get psyched!

Late night in the dirt

Fathers day was yesterday....  I love my kids.  Homemade trail mix, homemade cards, a morning bike ride up the airplane strip... I love them very much.  

Talked to my Dad on the phone for a brief moment.  Cant remember the last father's day I spent with him...

Went to the shop from 12-5.  It was busy.

Came home, Dinner with my wife and Jonah.  Thank you, dear.

Spent the last 4 hours of my day/night digging in the dirt.  There really isnt a better way to get my thoughts out, than sculpting dirt to ride bikes on,(especially at 1 in the morning) with a RedSox game on the truck radio in the background.  I can get things accomplished ( new roller into a bridge, into a berm) and also think/talk out loud to myself about all the things that are going on in my life right now.  My family is important.  My friends are important.  What I do everyday to better myself  is important.  How I let the outside world affect me is important.  That last one, Im working on...

Thank you to ALL that have supported me through the first 5 years of this saga. Your LOYALTY and support means everything to me.  I hope the shop is more to you than just a place to get your new parts from. You certainly mean more to me than just a dollar sign.  Thank you.  I plan on doing it for a few more decades. :)

I hope the rain holds off tonight.  .  I want to try that bridge out.  See you soon, J.
